Director of Enterprise Services

 

Our Client: is a $10b North American information technology (IT) management and business process services (BPS) company with 68,000 employees in over 40 countries.  It operates delivery centers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

 

 

Role and Responsibilities: The Director of Enterprise Services defines global infrastructure strategy covering Cloud, Servers, Storage, End User Computing and management and monitoring tools. The director works with the regional CIO teams to define strategy and drive its adoption through the established governance process. The role responsibility to:

  • Track, understand, assess the impact of the rapidly evolving enterprise services market on infrastructure strategy and enterprise architecture
  • Define global infrastructure standards and technology choices, management practices, service offerings and financial models
  • Develop technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and an implementation road map covering Servers, Storage, Cloud, End User Computing (of all types Windows, Linux, Unix, Mainframe, AS400, PC, Smartphone, and Tablets), and management and monitoring tools.
  • Drive the technology governance process to approve and implement the strategy, architecture and road map
  • Identify preferred technology suppliers and manage their relationships, performance and service scope
  • Develop and keep current financial models that identify the efficiency and financial impact of the technology strategy, architecture and road map
  • .Coordinate with regional CIO teams to 1) develop and enforce technology standards, 2) identify the technology necessary to support internal and external customer requirements, and 3) to drive the adoption, integration and implementation of the infrastructure.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the enterprise architecture community, the global CTO team, and regional Infrastructure service chiefs.
  • Support the sales process and customer relationships through presentations that communicate the advantages and benefits of the infrastructure strategy, architecture and road map
  • Understand and adopt to regional and national policies, constraints, cultures and business capabilities
  • Become the trusted internal expert on Enterprise Services with a global reputation that is sought after by the infrastructure and business communities

 

Qualifications: Significant experience required in defining and executing strategies for servers, storage, end user computing, systems management and monitoring tools. Proven experience working in a truly global environment and leading initiatives that rely on virtual teams.

  •  Strong presentation, written and verbal communication, and negotiations skills
  • Proven expertise in designing and delivering Cloud Computing infrastructures for private, public and hybrid deployments
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Cloud services: Amazon, Azure
    • Server technologies (Windows, Linux, Unix, Mainframe)
    • Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, JBOD):  HDS, EMC, NetApp
    • Converged infrastructures: Cisco UCS, vBlock
    • End User Computing (PC/Tablet/Smartphone)
    • BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)
    • VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
    • Systems Management and monitoring tools (BMC suite)
    • Security capabilities
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required, Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 year experience working and leading activities in the Enterprise Services domain.
  • Ability to build and deliver presentations to all levels of the business and effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language
  • Results-oriented self-starter – ability to take action and produce desired outcomes with little direction
  • Present solutions confidently and accurately to client executives and sales team
  • Ability to work outside of comfort-zone

Travel:  Globally as required, 25% to 50%
